Well the problem is that when I try to use the paddle to move the scope around the scope will just move to the sides (left and right) or the front of the scope upwards. I press the downwards key but the scope doesnt seem to have enough power to move downwards...strange thing is that when I try to stabilize the scope horizontally, the scope seems to slide out of position, the front sliding upwards and the back part downwards...like if it couldn't stay positioned. Someone said to me the problem could be the batteries...but when the scope is off it remains with the front part upwards (that being the part that actually focus on objects), which means that the back portion slides as if the arm holding the scope was full of oil. What can be the problem? Thanks.

If you're lucky, this is just a balance problem. If you can, slide the telescope tube forward in its mounting cradle until it balances. Or you can try adding a little weight to the front end if it doesn't slide. If the problem is that the tube won't stay put in the cradle, try shimming it with some tape.

Worst case, there's something wrong with the altitude drive and you'll have to contact Meade for a repair or replacement.
