Patrick Roy hands done. Roy was the king of the crease as of Fuhr would let in 4 or more goals a game but he had Gretzky and company to score more then he would let in. Patrick Roy would win the games for the Habs when he needed to. Patrick Roy best ever. NHL GREATS!!!!!!!!!!!!
smartygir...>>>> have you seen Hasek not to many play his style of game the dive around and stick out his arms and pads to make a save which he didn't even see the puck. Patrick Roy mad Butterfly style what it is today and 95% of the goalies today play Roy's style and that's why in the late 90's and in the early 2000's you seen so many young goalies come out cause of Patrick Roy everybody wanted to be like him as a kid in the 80's and 90's he is your man. Long live the KING OF THE CREASE.
GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Roy and why is Grant Fuhr even in the mix? he was a good but not good enough to be in the same sentence as Roy.
If anyone has an argument that someone was better than Roy is deffinetly Terry Sawchuck.

St Patrick. Much longer and better legacy left behind (except, perhaps, his door-breaking frustration at home).
Smartygirl-
He may have had A bad playoff run in 2002. Hasek has what to show for his inability to stand up? Roy was and is the best and most CONSISTENT goalie to ever play. Why did Buffalo get rid of Hasek? He's like Jake Plummer of the Denver Broncos, he plays outstanding one game, then forgets he's a goalie the next night and loses 7-8.

What is this a Roy fan club? Doesn't anyone remember when Patty melted during the 2002 Stanly Cup game against the Red Wings? He is too much of a drama queen. By default, I would have to go with grant Fuhr but aren't you forgetting about Dominic Hasek? He was the one who made goalies into acrobats and redefined all that goalies do.

Roy hands down. horrible attitude but that doesnt even matter when u have the guy in the crease. He got the job done. Look at the Av's now, they have been mediocre ever since roy left. Roy made that team always be one of the top in the league every year.

roy. fuhr had the luxury of playing most of his career on a team with an explosive offense. when he played with the leafs and sabres, he didn't do anything of consequence. roy literally won the canadiens the stanley cup in 1993, and he won 3 more, 2 with a completely different team.
