Did they give a place to go with your children? It is a lot like living with a disaster. The living conditions are not ideal but be ssure to remin warm and fed best you can. If you aaare freezing alone with your children then you need to seek shelter.

If you provide your children with food and keep them warm, then no its not child abuse. Although I have no children, usually the first people to bit** about child abuse are the people who have no children. I was a family and adolescent counselor for the Department of Social Services for almost 10 years and I've seen abuse. Electricity nowadays is considered a necessity, not a luxury. But in a case like yours, I see no grounds for accusations.

They are probably thinking it's child abuse because there isn't any way to cook a meal or heat up any food.

I say, if you are eating, the kids are eating and you have heat - there is no child abuse issue.

as long as your children are safe and warm i dont think its child abuse at all. What about the days before electricity, those children survived just fine. Hope you get your power back soon! Happy Holidays!
