whta's meant by "break down the timing of antibiotic administration"?

I want to know the meaning of break down

I assume that "Break down" in this usage refers to seperating into specific sub groups. i.e. How many patients of the total sample received treatment within a specific period of time from the onset of symptoms.

Out of 10 patients (of course you would need a large sample for meaningful results)
5 received antibiotics within the first 24 hrs
3 received antibiotics within 24 to 48 hrs
2 received antibiotics after 48 hours

once broken into sub groups you could analyze effectivness of treatment for early vs late treatment or look into mortality rates for each group ect...
