What did the other nine out of ten vote? LOL. The Rethugs are the ones that lost their base. Even the religious ones are starting to realize that killing innocent people isn't what Jesus would do. How many black people are Republican Senators? I'll bet there aren't any. There are no worries that black people are moving over to the Republican side, just look at Katrina and how the Rethugs treated them.

I'm a Democrat and they are losing the black voters. I think it's because of their position on immigration that has angered so many blacks but then again the Republican party isn't so great at defending our borders.

African Americans are not the entire base of the Democratic Party... Middle Class working families & more liberals are the BASE, this just so happens to include African Americans. Many wealthy families are turning democrat due to foreign affairs, so I don;t think they are losing their base...just deversifing! Not to mention if more African Americans voted, they would recieve more attention from the parties, not just sway capaigning. One additional note: Michigan African Americans voted democate this year despite the fact that all the canidates wanted to see afermative action abolished...and as of Jan 1, here it will be.

I believe that the Democrats believe they can win by courting the Hispanic vote and therefore don't care whether they get the lionshare of the black vote. As we can see, Hispanics will become a far larger demographic and potential voting block. Both parties court this vote and yet they both fail miserably to understand it.

So?

I don't care how races vote. It's not a matter of how races vote to me. It's a matter of majority and the majority voted for Democrats last time. Stop whining. Start bringing up voting in a year or two... when it actually matters.

WHERE DID YOU GET STATISTICS ON THE 1 OUT OF 10 BLACKS VOTED REPUBLICAN. I BELIEVE YOU HAVE IT *** BACKWARD. THE REPUBLICANS HAVE ALREADY LOST THEIR BASE, IF YOU COULD DEFINE WHAT YOU MEAN BY BASE OR DID YOU MEAN SENSE. ASK THE BLACKS IN NEW ORLEANS.

Yes, more and more blacks are voting Republican. This is why. The Dems want to throw promises of affirmative actions and other methods to get the black vote. The Reps treat them like everyone else, we just want their support. Reps tend to see blacks not as votes, but as people. This is what they want. You have a few oddballs like Sharpton and Jackson who try to call everybody racists, but more and more blacks are opposing them. Why? Because they no longer represent the entire black population. The blacks want to gain respect. The Reps want to give them respect.
