Sure. Empowerment has no color. When Oprah is showcasing women, she doesnt just cater to black women because shes black. She caters to all women. When Mary is giving her thank you speech, she dont say, "this goes out to all my black people and sisters." She gives thanks to everybody who has supported her. When she gave an interview recently, she was asked that question and responded, " My music isnt just made for black people my music is made for all people. When I sing of abuuse and getting stronger to move on and keep your head up, I'm directing it to all women, because all women of different race goes through some of the same challenges." When she sings its for anyone who hears and needs her words to make it through.

Women are women and we all feel empowered to hear another woman tell us ALL that we should be proud to be women. I think that goes for any woman who loves herself.

I think Mary's message is universal for all females. Young, old, black, white. She wants us all to get over this "need to please" and realize that the only person you really need is "you". Yes, her message is timely and one that we should definately take notice.
