Start wearing maternity clothes when you feel normal clothes dont fit comfortably anymore. Motherhood (which is at many malls) is a great place to shop for maternity clothes. I got rid of my maternity clothes after my son was born 18mo ago but Im pregnant again and wished I wouldve kept them. Maternity clothes come in all sizes. Make sure that when you buy them early on that you leave some room for growth so that you can wear them throughout the pregnancy.

I'm not pregnant (yet!) but I know I probably won't wear maternity clothes until I'm really showing or my own don't fit! My best friend is 5 months pregnant - her clothes were tight soon into her pregnancy; she couldn't button her pants! She bought something called a "belly band" - it's a stretchy band that slips over your belly at the waist of your pants/jeans. That way you can wear your same pants even if you can't button them, so you don't need to run out and get new stuff just because you can't button your jeans!

Also, go on e-bay; you can find so many cute designer maternity clothes that were probably worn only a few times. A Pea in the Pod has the CUTEST clothes - and very expensive. But if you check out e-bay, you might find something designer at half the price. Rule of thumb - the size that you are in non-maternity clothes is the size you will be in maternity clothes. If you normally wear a small size shirt, then small size maternity is for you...

God luck! :0)

As soon as your clothes don't fit and the maternity clothes look okay. You will actually probably go through a few sets of maternity clothes. I'm 25 weeks and have already outgrown some of my maternity clothes. Others still look huge on me. Fortunately plenty fit.

Motherhood is the main place I know to get maternity clothes, though I got most of mine used through classified ads. Much cheaper that way if money is an issue.

hi there, you will find that those fav jeans are gettin a bit tight round the waist, and that gorgeous top doesnt cover the lower part of your belly anymore.
i found normal sized hipster jeans were good, coz they sit right under the belly, but after about 20 weeks, dont be shy and go and invest in the maternity pants.
they have an adjustable waist band, and are just fantastic.
Also a mistake i made was i went out and bought a load of maternity clothes size large and xlarge thinking i will get really huge and they will fit me sooner or later, but i learnt to just buy the size you normally are. because the maternity clothes are made to fit your normal size just they expand the bits that are growing(belly and boobs) so you get a perfect fit.
so dont htink you have to buy all the big stuff.
good luck

I like the maternity clothes by GAP, Old Navy, Mimi Maternity, and Pea in the Pod. You usually need maternity clothes by your fourth or fifth month, which is when your regular clothes become tight and uncomfortable.

If your regular clothes start looking a little too tight or they just don't fit anymore. I got some of my maternity clothes at JC Penny, Gap and Old Navy. Good luck.

there are a few places to get really cute maternity clothes...
I'm not sure when you should start wearing them. I think when your clothes begin to be uncomfortable and almost tight you should wear maternity clothes...

I couldn't wear maternity clothes at all, they were all too big. So, it really depends on your size and shape when you can wear them. You can find some really cute stuff on www.onehotmama.com or www.imaternity.com. Congrats!
