To the best of my knowledge, there is no free dial up accelerator. Some ISP providers (e.g. Earthlink, AOL and NetZero) provide dial up acceleration and it does work; however, it is not free. The maximum connection speed for dial up is 56.6 kps which can not be exceeded. However, most modems never reach that limit since the settings are not optimize. There are a number of free software programs which can tweak your network/modem connection to get as close to the limit as possible. I recommend you try TCP Optimizer. It is absolutely free and easy to use. Install the program and open it. Select the connection type you have (i.e. dial up) and click [Optimize] that's it. The download link is http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

If you are adventurous, you can use TCP Optimizer and manually customize the settings. But, if you are going to do it then read the instructions before making any changes. For that matter, always create a system restore point before using this or any other software program.

There is NO SUCH thing as a dialup accelerator! Dont be fooled into believing it! Your dialup provider only connects you at a certain speed! When you download these so called accelerators, you are downloading adware that will direct you only to sites that the so called accelerator is affiliated with and makes money from! It appears to the user that his browser is faster when in fact it simply doesnt show all of the possible sites in your search! Its all a scam!
