No. You should be fine unless your like a drug dealer or something. Just mind your own business and you'll be fine. I don't live in Oakland but I go there a lot cause sometimes I like to go to there flea market or just go have something different to eat. My uncle goes over there pretty frequent too and he's never had any problems over there. Just be careful were you hang out at night because that's when a lot of the crime takes place. hahah...well, i live in east oakland, which in my opinion isnt as bad as the west..well, ive never been in the west part of oakland, but i think ull do ok for a month:) just dont hang around like people who dont look friendsly..hope this helps, BUT it probably wont...sorry
