I'm a math tutor who teaches students high school math and Calculus. Are there any programs out there that assist me in creating questions and tests? Mainly, I'm interested in creating problems using the various mathematical symbols (something that can't easily be done in Microsoft Word), the integral symbol, and fractions (x/y does not look like how i want x divided by y to look like, and neither does x^2, or "x squared".

What I'm hoping for are math teachers that can enlighten me. I want to create printable sheets of questions to help me in teaching my students.

I am not sure whether you can get it for free or not online, however if you have access to any disks that come with textbook orders in a math department.

ExamView is great. It creates online multiple choice tests with all types of importing abilities, as well as study guides. Check with the school and see if they have it on any disks with Teacher Resources for a textbook.

well I have mathxpert. Really Really Good Program (really small about less than 50mb) Goes through Everything From algebra to Trig To Calculus AB and BC. You can enter the questions of your choice (or the computer will give you random questions so you can practice) and it will solve it for you. It Explains everything as it shows you a VERY detailed step by step. It even graphs it for you 0____0. Really simple to use. Although you can't print it out, the screen is big enough to view and very clear. So if you have a projector, just hook that up to the comp and you can show your students every step. Really good for practicing your Math! Hope that helps

Yes, mathematics in computers are very troubling. x/y is same as x devided by y and x2 is not x squared. you must answer questions according to its questions to be answered. No one in microsoft are very punctual and they cannot use math into computers. I'm saying is that the microsoft workers are not doing their job when they are supposed to according to its mathematical problems.
