I stopped my birth control pills exactly a week ago today and since I have stopped I have felt bloated and tired and having an upset stomach and having hot flashes. Is this normal cause me and my husband decided to try and start to concieve but a week off the pill would be to early to even have any symptoms of concieveing and pregnant yet.

When I stopped taking the pill, I felt awful too. I gained almost 20 lbs, suddenly broke out in acne, and felt extremely irritable and depressed all the time. It lasted for months and I didn't start my period again until nearly 10 months later. I went to the doctor because I thought I was pregnant, but I wasn't; it was just my body's hormones trying to re-regulate themselves. I would never go on the pill again. I suspect the same thing is happening to you too, but if you don't feel better pretty soon and you're worried, go to the doctor.

Many new approaches of birth control can potentially alternate your character and moods. Your body was once transformed and now it is just getting used to you with no the pill. Your body tailored to the capsule and is now re-adapting with out it. You will have to be all correct quickly ample. I might wait until the whole thing is apparent to begin a new capsule different smart it could quite tamper along with your physique and nobody wants that. Excellent luck!

Question:
Hi. I am 21 and have been on birth control pills for 3 years (alesse). I have been told by family and friends that i should take a break b/c of possible liver damage, depletion of nutrients, and the possibility that it will be difficult to conceive in the future. is it necessary to give the body a "break" from the pill? How long should I go off of it to allow my body to return to normal? I have heard of people having withdrawal symptoms like depression, moddiness, etc. Your help is appreciated. thanks!

Answer
Hi Jay,
First of all, I want to let you know that I'm not a medical professional. I would suggest that you consult your physician about your questions. I do believe that the pill is dangerous to a women's health and body. And yes, I have heard of withdrawal symptoms. I get questions about these things every day. I don't recommend the birth control pill. Have you thought of changing methods or abstinence. I only recommend condoms (not very effective) and Natural Family Planning method. It usually takes 3-6 months to get your body regulated after going off the birth control pill. I would be interested in finding out what you decide if you would email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com
Thanks.
