David Glazier, Detroit Lions senior vice president who votes in the Harris poll, said he had problems with the "politicking that people in the media did, trying to steer people away from a rematch.

He also had the novel idea of voting for the better team.

"Did I want to see a rematch? No," he said. "But my job was to vote for the top 25 teams, not who should play who, and after watching as much college football as anybody, I believed Michigan was the second-best team."

The last rematch in the national title games was in 1996, when Florida beat Florida State for the national title after losing to the Seminoles in the final game of the regular season.

South Carolina's Steve Spurrier, who coached the Gators to the '96 national championship, moved Florida past Michigan in the coaches' poll.

His reasoning?

"Heck, I'm a Gator," he said. "I went there. So I had a lot of reason to vote

I really hate the gators and all the coaches that have coach the gators. Steve Spurrier needs toshut his mouth as well as Urban Meyer. Michigan got robbed of the national championship game. And people like Steve is the only reason that Michigan didnt get in the game. Michigan is a better team.

As a Buckeye fan, I could've cared less who OSU plays for the national title. But as a football fan I think the Florida matchup is a better fit:
1. Florida's strength of schedule was minutely stronger
2. Florida won 1 more game (thus resulting in better winning %)
3. Florida is a conference champion
4. SEC is short for second (to Big 10) and this game will prove it.

With the whole nation involved and a short time to develop an overall champion, you only have one shot to dethrone the leader - so I do believe this matchup is best for NCAA football.

BO BUCKS!!!! 1st from start to finish!

Yeah the whole voting is bias which is a bunch a crap!! His vote should automatically be taken away and he should lose his voting rights in the future. College football really needs to come up with a better system
