How do you know when your little one is ready to start going to one a day naps? How old was your little one when they started this? How long did it take you to convert?

My little girl is 8 months old. (a little young I know...) but it seems like she is ready. She is not really wanting to nap in the morning and then IF she does its only for about 30 minutes. Then in the afternoon ... it seems to be later then normal around 2 ish and can be up to an hour and half. Does it sound like she is ready to start moving to one a day? UGH!! Babies!! So darn cute but I have no idea what I am doing!! lol

Thank you in advance for help

Just go with what your daughter needs. My son was about 9 months old when he started doing the same as your daughter. I started waiting for him to get really tired (usually around 11am) and laying him down and he would sleep for 3-3.5 hours and didnt get tired again until night time. It worked well for us it might work for you. Good Luck!

My daughter started to take naps once a day at 10 months. She's 11 months now. She wakes up about 8am, eats breakfast and plays until 11 or 12. I know when she's ready to take a nap, because she will start the "I'm sleepy cues." Like rubbing her eyes, and whining a little bit. Then she will come into my arms. I have to rock her in a quiet environment, like her bedroom. She likes the silence or I'll sing her a lullaby. Then she'll sleep about 2-3 hours and stays up until nighttime (7 or 8). She started on one nap a day on her own. Your baby is still a little young. Give her time, she'll get herself on a schedule. Good luck with your baby!

my daughters 9 months old and she takes 2 naps a day she's been only taking to practicly since she was born. if they are overly fussy then they need a nap. Your daughter will let you know if she's tired and if she's not. Don't force her to sleep but if you notice she's VERY fussy then put her dwn for a nap. I don't think there's really an age to only have 1 nap a day i think it just depends on when your babys are tired.
