Ok. Here goes. I'm new to this school. I want to try out to this talent show. And already, for some reason Mr. Mikea doesn't like me. My auditions are tomorrow.... And these two girls (my sisters say they are jealous of me) always talk about me behind my back.And how they don't want me to join and all that.
How do I have confidence in myself?! It seems like, I'm always getting negative comments towards me. What should I do? What should I remind myself?!?!?!?!? HELP! PLEASE ANSWER!

First of all let me tell you that you are probably the nicest sweetest person in your new school. I've learned over the years, when i had been getting over having really low self esteem, that the people that talked about me must have had even lower self esteem, because they had to talk about me to their friends. I started to think to myself they must really feel bad about themselves inside to take the time to pay me any attention in the first place and look to find something wrong with me to try and make themselves look and feel good. I was really slim when i was younger, i was (5'1 98lbs) and it should have been obvious, that the ones that talked about me were like 160lbs or more. The guys in school that liked dark girls ( i was) but they were the light skin chicks.... Anyway you see where im going with this? People always look down on the people they are jealous of. Im older now and peoples comments and snares don't phase me as much anymore. They can keep all their insecurities to themselves an, let them deal that out with somebody else :-) Go to school do your thang, hold your head up high and let them talk, it's all do to them knowing you are already confident with yourself, just start showing it off sweety :-)

Try out!!!! Who cares about Mr. Mikea, he isn't GOD. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just because he doesn't like your talent doesn't mean that it isn't good. If you have faith that your talent is good, then it will show in your performance. You never know who is going to fall in love with your smile!
As far as the negative comments......people say mean things because they have their own insecurities. To say something bad about someone else makes them feel good in a negative way. Consider the source. Just think maybe you will be the one they come to begging for a job one day :-)

Well, first off .. the girls probably ARE jealous .. && secondly, trying out for a talent show when you move to a new place/school is a great way to get invovled in the school! So don't worry about it- as for the teacher... don't worry about him either. Do your thing, and if he doesn't like it get invovled in something else that your interested in!
confidence= self esteem! Know that your trying as hard as you can and don't let the girls get you down!!!!! You definately seem like a better person then they will ever be!!!

heres a little something to remember. if you have to worry all your life about what others think about you and what you do, then you'll never get anything accomplished. you do what you want to do, if you know you are good at something, then you take that opportunity to go for it. the best vote of confidence you need to have is in yourself. you never know what good things are ahead.
as for having confidence in yourself at a new school, quit listening to the put downs of others. sometimes they like to put another person down because they don't want anyone to know how they see themselves.
carry yourself like your proud all the time, it reflects on how others see you. Don't walk and look at the ground. instead walk and keep yourself looking straight ahead.

you need to do what you want to do...go try out for the talent show. you obviously are worth talking about, even if it is behind your back, or they wouldn't waste their time. everyone always seems afraid, or intimidated by the unknown or unfamiliar (that would be you, being new to the school). stand proud and do what you want to do. try speaking to them on occassion, even if they ignore you. that makes you the better person. if they chose not to respond, you have taken the first step, and it is their loss. good luck, and have fun. Be confident knowing that the reason they don't want you to join is because they think you are good or they are jealous of you (which would explain why they are talking behind you back)
If you really want this go for it who cares what these girls think and give it your all!!

We can't tell you how to be confident!
You just have to realize that YOU are better then them, and you don't deserve those negative comments. Belive in your heart that you can do it, and tell yourself that you are the best, and you will be!

dont sweat those other girls theirs a reason that they talk behind your back and its cuz their shallow and dont have anything else to do and they know you have something they want and will do anything to see you unhappy when you try out use their backstabbing as a reason to do well nd prove to them you can do anything you want
