Hi:

Beaded snowflakes are beautiful and seasonal and you can leave them hanging in a window all winter rather than just during the holidays. Crocheted snowflakes are also very lovely hanging in trees. I used to carry around a small crochet hook and thin crochet cotton and make them up as I went. This was fun and I made a lot of them. You can stiffen them using fabric stiffener, or thinned white glue, and they are very pretty. Hope this helps and might give you some ideas.

There are loads of things that can be done with polymer clay -- from ornaments and decorations, to gingerbread houses and their embellishments, to jewelry, to gifts, etc.

sew stockings from homemade patters.
make snowflakes out of glitter pipecleaners.
use painty pens on plain glass balls to make hand made balls.
string popcorn and cranberries and coquats(tiny oranges) on fishing line with a long needle to make garlands. use cut greens to make swags and wreaths and add nuts and berries and etc...
use oranges and push whole cloves into them to cover the whole orange. you can get big bags of cloves cheap at indian food markets.

Oranges with nutmeg, storophone balls with glitter and pins, and little snowflakes are the classics. I got stockings with glitter writing and but my daughters names on them.
