One of my best friends (black man) met and married a white woman. I think it's wonderful. These are 2 people who had bad relationships in the past and now have a healthy and happy one. They have 2 beautiful children who are happy and well adjusted. And I'm Texan, born and bred!

FIRST OF ALL, Black and White are NOT the only races out there! What is with this category on Y!A??? That is all I ever see here! "Black ppl are bad" "white ppl suck" "r black ppl monkeys" "y white ppl meen"
GROW UP. We are all one race-- the human race.
Can a blond person date a brunette? Why can't a white person date a black person? Because one person's skin is darker than the other's? That's ridiculous!! If a white person doesn't want to marry a black person because of CULTURAL differences, that is ok. If the Black person actually does celebrate kwanzaa, and the white person is Jewish or celebrates Xmas, there may be a big problem! But if the white person doesn't want to date a black person simply because of silly stereotypes or b/c of skin color, that's just.....disgusting.

I believe that they can have a good relationship & they WILL have a good relationship.
DIfferences doesn't mean that we must be enemies.
We should study the differences such as cultures, nationalities, religion, the poor & the rich.
We should try to understand them.
Help them too!
As a human we can't live alone, we need to have each other. Different cultures, nationalities & religion must be appriciated & respected so that we will have a good relationship among each other.
Then, if we all are in peace, we will build a wonderful & a beautiful world for all of us to live together!

Depends on the person involved and the upbringing.

Personally, I like Black Asian relationships. I LOVE IT!

I want to comment on the person above.

"But some people have expressed concerns about competition. African-American women complain about a shortage of suitable African-American men who are available. Ditto Asian-American men"

Wrong notion, there are plenty of black men and asian women. This is another tactic to cause a mar on interracial relationships. Just cause there are high numbers of blacks and asians marring white does not mean there is a "shortage" if you will. Most of the complaints are from those who can't get a partner or stick to barriers that cause them to blame interracial relationships.

I am a Mexican girl who is married to a white guy. His grandfather is racist, but he and I don't let it bother us because we both know that his grandfather was raised in the "old way".

I do not believe is racism towards anyone, but I can understand why his grandfather is though. That's just the way it was in the early 1900s, and it's hard to change ones mentality towards things when that's the way the person grew up and lived most of his life.

It depends on the nature of the relationship. If your talking about marriage its better to marry somebody that is more culturally similar to you...improves the odds of the marriage suceeding. This isn't racist..the more differences there are the lower the odds of the marriage suceeding. If your talking about friendship...sure why not? And as long as somebody is a good neighbor race doesn't matter. Of course this all depends on the characters of the people involved. Good luck.

Why not....as long as both people in the relationship are happy I can not see any reason why they shouldn't be in a relationship especially by colour. I think what can be a problem is when there is a difference in religion. That can make it very difficult especially when there are children involved and would likely cause alot of argument....not good.

Of course I believe in them...they're a fact, a reality.

If you're asking if I AGREE with them or what my opinion is, it's this: I think love is LOVE, no matter the race, color, background, religion, sex, gender, etc. I don't have ANY problem with interracial relationships. *I* am mixed (native american and white), as well as my husband (also native and white) and my children, and SO SO many other people I know and love.

Good men are hard to find and I found a few decent, loving, caring men.A relationship is based on honesty, hard work, love, and wanting to help each other grow and do the best they can.to learn about other cultures and beliefs is a wonderful thing and to share these interesting moments with someone you love is a rewarding moment in our lives.

The problems people in cross cultural or cross race relationships have are almost always from their families or from the community the live in. What are you gonna do about your racist in laws or neighbours? It would be nice to ignore them but it does not work like that. I made the mistake of falling in love with an Israeli woman from an orthodox family. Boom, gad ole, gadole
