I use bliss hand cream... It's wonderful although pricey and difficult to get...
The best lotion I have ever used (and that friends find amazing too) which is easy to find anywhere is the 'Miracle' brand cream sold at any Walgreens. Their hand and foot lotion is incredible! After using their foot cream twice a day for two weeks I turned my dry horrible hoofs into soft-as-a-baby's feet. The cost about $10 each, but it lasts a long time and you will NOT regret it.
The most important thing to remember is that no matter what lotion you buy, you have to put it on at the right time. Be sure to apply lotion no later than 3 minutes after you have gotten out of the shower.
In fact, if you have a really bad dry skin problem, what you can do is this: After you get on the shower BEFORE you dry off, apply Johnson's Baby oil gel liberally. Then, dry off. It sounds weird, but its actually the best way of getting your skin to hold its own moisture and to REALLY absorb the oil/gel. Another plus: you have a nice, light scent which stays on all day!
Good Luck~!

If money is no object, I would say go with "Creme de Corps" by Kiehls. Make no mistake, you will be paying more money than you thought you would ever pay for a bottle of lotion but it is the best I've ever seen. Many friends (men & women) who have tried it and are not price sensitive have converted over...
