UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. What console system should i get for my 11 year old son? I either want to give him x box 360, ps3, or wii. He is allowed to play teen games. He does not really care about graphics much. But he wants the graphics to be good. He also really does not care about movies or photos much. So what system?

the ps3 is too complex, thats for experienced game players. if he had played video games before and know what he is doing most of the time then you can consider the ps3, but i wouldnt go after it. the wii on the other hand, is for new game players, it welcomes people in to the video game world with an motion simulation controller. thats what i got, i have a wii. the xbox 360 has been out a year and its pretty much out of the situation cause both the ps3 and the wii are betta the it. if i was an 11 year old, i would want my dad to buy a wii, because the wii is for kids and teens. the ps2 is mainly build for adults, because their the only ones who really understand how to play it. the wii also would get your son up a moving with his controller losing weight while if he had the ps3, hed be in a chair eating potatoe chips and gain weight. the wii is simply the better choice for an 11 year old. not only will he have it for when he becomes a teenager, but he will beable to give it to his kids. gosh, i still have my NES(nintendo entertainment system or the 1 nintendo to some out) and it works perfectly. but the ps2's are already starting to die. of you get him the ps3, he will have it for his teenage years, but will he understand it, nobody knows, i dont even understand all the controls and by the time he becomes and adult and understands the controls, that also will be dead. the wii is definatly the better choice. also, the ps3 does have good graphics, but its graphics are a little too out of this world, and i dont think you son would want to see sweat on some guys face, and the has graphics for its time. the graphics it has goes with the 21st centry were in. i think sony is in the 26th centry. i dont know your son but if you get him the wii, i know he will be happy.

Overall it depends what you want. I would say you should get the wii because odds are an 11 year old would have way more fun swinging the remote at a baseball and watching himself hit the ball on the screen. But then again if you were to go and buy a blu-ray dvd player at bestbuy it would cost a few thousand dollars and this comes as a part of the ps3 which is half the price and you can play games on it. The ps3 also has beautiful graphics but the games are for an older age group and the system is quite expensive. The xbox 360 is very fun and has a lot of games with excellent graphics if you have an HDTV. The 360 has so many games because it has been out for a year or so. So in a year the wii and ps3 will have many games to choose from. I still woud get a wii because it can also be enjoyed by the whole family and their are many promising games coming out like Smash Bros. and Mario Galaxy. If i was you i would research a little bit and read some reviews and then choose.

wii graphics, while the worst of the three compared systems, are very good. You said he is 11, so i would say the wii. The wii focuses games more on the younger generation. If it was for u though and u wanted an entire entertainment system get ps3, and if ur not willing to shell out 600 bucks get the xbox360. All in all though, i think that the wii will probably be the best choice. Cost-wise, it runs for about 250 bucks and this includes a game with the console and the controllers. You can probably find ones with lower prices if you look around on the web. As for gaming, nintendo is known for their great games. However, they have very little nintendo tittles currently. I beleive this is going to follow the same path as the ds. It will really begin to take off around spring next year because they will add a lot of features to it. Nintendo is currently adding features to its wii. All in all i believe da best choice is the wii. The games will get better than they are now and so will the system as they add the features to it. Though u need internet from a router, but that goes for all of the systems. Pick da wii.

PS: By it from a place like costco if possible because of their low prices and GREAT RETURN POLICY just in case u change ur mind.

No doubt the Wii.

Your son is actually the demographic Nintendo is aiming for: the gamer who wants fun games > uber graphics.
The Wii is a family console. It can be hardcore; it can be casual. But, it gives you the most bang for your buck. It comes with a free Wii Sports to whet your appetite. I'm sure that you'll also be addicted to the multiplayer that the Wii offers.

The PS3's best game (Resistance) is a mature-rated FPS (first person shooter) with good graphics and not much else.
The 360's best game (Gears of War) is a mature-rated FPS with great graphics and not much else..
The Wii's best game (Legend of Zelda) is a gameplay heavy, addicting game (and it has decent graphics) that makes you remember why gaming is fun.
Besides, the 360 and PS3 forces you to pay for all those media functions that you won't need. The Wii is a gaming machine first and foremost, and that's what counts.

Bottom line:
PS3 for multimedia function/graphics.
360 for online/graphics.
Wii for fun/multiplayer/epic, must-buy games (that appeal to lots of people)/decent graphics

If he wants good graphics i suggest to get him a Xbox 360 or PS3 but the xbox 360 has a problem, i heard it freezes in the middle of the game and can mess up and also the PS3 is sold out everywhere except for ebay but i suggest u don't buy from there. But i like the PS3 though and I'm still waiting for it to come back out. Well Good Luck. Happy Holidays to you!

Since he is only allowed to play teen games then he should get the xbox 360....the 360 has many 'T' and under rated games that can be alot of fun for your 11 year old son and the graphics are amazing for the xbox 360, also it's not that expensive

I got the Wii at launch and I love it. It has a lot of family-friendly games and the graphics are pretty good. you can also get classic games online. and it comes with a parental thingee that lets you block stuff. My personal opinion of the ps3 is that it's not that good, and the 360 is ok. at $250 the wii has the best value.

At the moment, I would not suggest the playstation 3 as it is highly overpriced. I personally would suggest the Nintendo Wii, but if he's into realistic sports and shooting games I would recommed the Xbox 360.

I'd go with the Wii. I'd think it would be more amusing for him than the other systems.
