I love the Mr Clean Magic Eraser sponge. They are like $2 but they are the best. It cleans everything. You don't even need to use harsh chemicals. Just water and it gets rid off all kinds dirt, skuff marks and stains. It's really wonderful. Here is a link to get a free sample in the mail:

Comet Spray bathroom cleaner is the most amazing product I've ever run into. It will melt away lime and rust stains in a day or two without you doing anything or it will soften them enough to be wiped away if you prefer. This stuff also makes a stainless steel kitchen sink sparkle and cleans grease off appliances if you need to.

Comet Cleanser (the old fashioned, green-container, abrasive, stuff; although they now have a lemon, non-abrasive, one that I just don't find as satisfying even though it works well). I use Comet cleanser for anything that needs bleaching - white plant pots, dishes (I wash well after with dish liquid and rinse super-well), corners of floors, whatever...)

Floor shine is always good after the real cleaning has been done. An acrylic floor shine product makes floors sparkle.

Brushes - a standard size "scrub brush" with a handle, a long-handled medium sized brush, and tiny brushes for between tiles. I choose a color scheme I like for all my brushes, and keep them super-clean as well.

I haven't found it lately, but I love the herbal scent 409. Lysol 3 in 1 lemon scent is nice. Having a spray cleaner that has a smell you love is a must.

For glass and the like - I like Windex berry scented.

For wood: Old English polish for simple dusting. Liquid Gold liquid for polishing.

Go easy on all those products and save yourself a bundle. Manufacturers go out of their way to get you to buy specialized products and want you to fill a whole cabinet with them. My favorite all-purpose cleaner is ammonia and water. At other times I like bleach and water but don't ever mix bleach and ammonia together.

Ammonia water will clean almost anything. The only place I use anything else is for cleaning porcelain. Then I use Lysol bathroom cleaner.

If you enjoy having the various scents in the house why not just light a candle? I'm burning carmel pecan right now. :o) It smells better than cleaning products and costs far less.

As far as cleaning tips... Clean often and it's less work! Dust first, then vacuum. Work with a small pail of ammonia water to wipe down anything glass or ceramic to keep it sparkling. In the bathroom I clean the inside of the toilet first and then the tub/shower. After that I wash every inch of the place with ammonia water and finish up by cleaning the sink.

Have fun!

It's stern stuff, but if you have any areas with stubborn soap scum or lime stains, get some Bam. Just don't use it where you don't need to because the fumes can get pretty thick. Along with that, I have discovered the Swiffer for dusting and the Magic Eraser for marks on walls, etc. I used to mostly use ammonia and water, and that's still great for a lot (floors), but some of these other products _can_ make your life easier.
