Do american musicans influence bands in England?

All R&R music goes back to Rythm and Blues, which goes back to the early blues. The Blues came out of Africa with the slaves, so all of them (English and American) trace back to Africa. Also most musicians cite either Robert Johson or Leadbelly. Most singers will list Bessis Smith , Big Mama Thornton, or some other Blues great as their influences.

This is more of a matter of opion. If you look at the Swedish sensation "Gunther" he looks like he is out of the seventies (in America). However, if you look at the Punk rock movement, many would say it started in the urban areas of England. And i believe Rap was started here in the USA. so you see, there are many trade-offs.
