Yes, they are very easy to get into. They also provide financial aid if needed. However, just because it's easy to get into doesn't mean everything about it will be easy. Classes will be tougher and you will have to keep your grades up so that you can apply to a good school

anyone can get into community college since they have very low requirements and most of them don't require you to take SATs or any type of standardized tests. Yea your mom is right about them not caring about your high school performance b/c i think most community colleges just care if you graduate or not. So pretty much if you pay for your classes, they just automatically take you. There is little to no financial aid since they think you will be living at home so theyre not gonna give you money to pay for dorms and such. It is better if you go to a state university or one of the public universities though because they give you ALOT of financial aid. If you think you qualify to go to the universities in your state, then i definitely recommend that you DO apply and go because the financial aid is great! i wish u the best of luck in your future educational endeavors.

Yeah, community colleges are easy to get into, as they are only junior colleges. They prepare you for universities, and only offer up to an Associate's degree. So you'll still want to work hard and keep your grades up. They are also generally cheaper, and yes they do offer financial aid if you qualify. If you have the grades though, I recommend going straight to a university. The programs and teachers are generally much better (and you can earn a Bachelor's degree as an undergraduate), and they also offer financial aid if you qualify.

The community college I went to only required a high-school diploma or a GED to start. You had to maintain a C average to continue, though.
A degree from a Community College is not as respected as one from a 4 year school, but I found that I learned much more and the instructors cared about teaching in the CC.

Kevin, there is no easy way out when it comes to higher education! Keep in mind that wherever you decide to go, you will need to study hard, otherwise forget about college and look into learning a trade. It's all up to you!
