It varies woman to woman. I had 6 weeks of bleeding after both my children.

I only bled for about two weeks with my first. I am about to have my second and I hope the bleeding lasts about the same amount of time.. I so hate that smell of old/new blood.

On the up side I didn't have a period for about a year after the birth and that was good.

Cheers,
Ruby

The average woman bleeds after having a baby for about 4-6 weeks. It is quite heavy in the beginning and then slowly tapers off.

You can bleed for 6 weeks, I only bled for 10 days with one and 11 with the other.

Some do and some don't. I didn't have a period for eight weeks after my child was born. My daughter had a baby six weeks ago and is still on hers.

I think it varies a lot depending on the woman.

Most of the time yes, some women have less time and some have more, but yes your body has to clean itself out and attempt to return to its pre-pregnancy state. Expect to bleed longer than normal. Good luck to you, no one told me that when I had my first one, its' good information to know.
