Depends on when you are going to get the gift. In hospital, I would suggest a new silk robe or maybe a pretty comb for her hair. I know that you usually feel terrible in the hospital, but you still like to feel pretty. Something that would cheer her up in the hospital and she can take home with her. Maybe some body splash or some light smelling cologne (like Jean Nate).

Make her a basket of things everyone needs like toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc. Or like teas, soups, easy dry foods for her to make. At her age and in her condition, she's probably on a fixed income, so if you can save her money on things she needs, that's going to be a lot more useful than getting her something to collect dust!

Does she want a pet? a poodle dogs r good to help people recover quicker from a major operation
