first of all, to run for president, you need a lot of money to buy advertising. All the good ideas in the world aren't going to do you any good if people don't know about them. If you don't have money, you've got almost not chance. You also almost certainly have to be affiliated with a political party that is fairly well established. I recently ran for mayor of my town, and would have gotten nowhere without the help of the repulican party. I didn't win, but at least was able to run a solid campaign.

One thing you can do, that doesn't cost much is write lots of letters to the editors of your area newspapers. Hopefully they'll get published and you'll start to be known. Call local talk radio as well, and try to get on local access cable television shows. It takes a lot of hard work. I don't see how an unknown person can successfully run for president without any background in government and politics, so you'll need to start on the local or state level and then move up.

maximum voters do no longer difficulty to pay extra effective than cursory interest to elections (while they vote in any respect). They associate the call with a pacesetter they're happy with, and that they parent "like father, like son". this isn't any longer the brightest reason to make your strategies up on a guy (as seen with George W. Bush), besides the fact that this is nevertheless extra smart than balloting against somebody by way of fact his call appears like an ice cream flavor.

Hard work and more and more hard work. Then campaign, campaign and campaign and money, money, money.
