Well, you should talk to your parents and ask them why they dont like rap. If they dont like it because of the cursing, find edited rap that doesn't have any curse words. If they dont like it because of content, find clean rap.
If that doesnt work, tell them that it is something you enjoy, and ask them to respect that.

Be respectful of their house and play it so only you can hear it.
So you have an ipod or other mp3 player? Nothing you can say about it is gonna make them like it, but they need to understand that a kids taste usaully always different from their own. Try to convince them by reminding them about the things there parents didn't like and chose not to understand.
They don't need to like it for you to continue liking it.

I don't know. Listen to rap when they aren't around... Do they generally not like rap or do they not like it that you love it?

lol..who cares if your parents dont like rap. you and your parents aren't suppose to like the same music. thats called a generational gap.

I have the same problem, girl.
They like their hippie music but I don't.
I like TODAY'S music but they don't.
I'm gonna listen to MY music, not theirs. No.
