Real in a pot, so you can plant it after the holidays.
You must keep the are cool tho, and the tree watered.
Use mini lights or the new LED ones.

Well, I guess it depends on the person wanting one. I myself like the real tree with roots, why? Because...
1. I will be able to smell the fragrance, touch the
real leaves
2. breath good clean air inside while using
3. watch it mature once planted outside
4. great for animals, esp. birds
5. enjoy the beauty it will bring to the landscape
6. in maturity offers shade, depending on type
7. some will help as buffers from wind, rain and
erosion
8. no need to shape the branches
Plastic:
1. small, and looks awful
2. no smell
3. touching is in no way enjoyable
4. does not create oxygen
5. many people have them, I like being different
6. will not get any bigger
7. cannot be planted outside
8. will not help animals outside
9. could catch on fire
10. branches need re-shaping for every use
...no need to go on is there?
I just love plants and trees, they help us in so many ways!

There is nothing quite like a real tree. But since they have been shaping the trees the stems get so crooked that it is hard to get them to stand up straight. Needles every where, Have to water it all the time.
So for the last 12 or more years it has been artificial.
Less over all trouble, & because they last for several years the cost isn't so bad.

real tree real tree real tree (which. not witch. witch is what people dress as on halloween. which is a question word. sry, grammar nerd here.) but a real tree is better. the smell, the look, the uniqueness of every tree... plastic tree is only for the old, the allergic, and the very lazy.

If you can find a nice real one, that is the kind I prefer. It looks very nice and smells good too. The plastic ones are a pain for me to put up and take down. I just mulch my live tree into my garden in the spring.

Real trees are better. They do not break down and contribute to global warming.
