Men are totally different to women in that area, and I dont think its just your husband. A man can look at a pile of garbage packed into a corner and not see it. A woman looks at it and takes it out. There are exceptions to that rule of course, but in the majority of cases men are just like that. Maybe instead of giving yourself all this stress, just do it yourself. I am a single parent with a 19 year old son living with me. He sees nothing, and the more I ask him to pull his weight the more we end up arguing. It is far less stressful for me to do it myself...its not hard really, its only him and I living here, so its not a lot to clean up. Concentrate on his good points and just love him, he will love you even more for it.

ohhhhhhh boy...sounds like quite a few men will fit this question. I am very impatient, when things do not get done after I ask twice I call in a handyman or whomever can do the repair. Once the man gets the bill to pay...he suddenly does not have amnesia anymore!

Changing people is next to imposible. My wife is the same way...no matter what reminders only help short term. I usually end up doing the things myself....I'm afraid that's the only way unless you want to step it up a notch and create a bigger issue by putting your foot down or gining an ultimatum.

I would stop doing things for my hubby, like making him food. I would cook for me and the kids but make just enough for us. I would not do his laundry anymore and when it came time for work with no clothes I would say I was too busy cleaning the house myself. I would not get up before him to make his coffee.. you know.. all those sweet *nothings* you do for him every day that he has come expect. If he doesn't want to recognize a partnership, make him pull his own weight.

Believe it or not you need to treat them like a child or a puppy and praise them for all the little things they do. They will eventually start doing more things for the praise and acknowledgement. Really it works, just ask Dr. Phil. lol

They are all alike. You will get things done if you do it yourself or hire someone. This a common problem. Men are few and far between that will actually get any honey do's done!
