Check engine light came on today while driving at unusually high speed 85-90 on the highway. This is a 2000 Dodge Neon

Codes are P1684 Metering Oil Pump Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction ( but another list says it's means the battery has been disconnected in the last 50 starts so I'm not sure) and P0743 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical. Got this from http://www.carrsmith.com/check%20engine%20light%20code%20list.htm

My quick lube place said my battery tested at 350 amps when it should be 550 new. I put it off since it's been starting fine and in doesn't get very cold in Florida. How serious are these codes? Should I change the battery and see? Can anyone conform that these are the right codes interpretations?

I just started a new job and don't have the money for a big repair. Thanks

I have torque converter lockup malfunction on my town car I dont sweet that its only a small drop in fuel eco if it wont engage not worth the cost of the new coverter thats why I used my old one when I rebuilt it wouldnt worry about batt disconnect to much but if by chance its the other you may give that OPPS a little investigation just to be safe

sounds to me like your torque converter hic-upped. you'll be ok. get a tranny flush and it shouldn't happen again. I would look at replacing your battery soon. other wise it will stop working when you need it the most. the metering oil sensor tells me you where pumping the oil faster then it was draining in to the pan, it's call dry sumping. This can be a problem if it happens over an extended period of time (parts are not getting oil like they need to) these cars are meant to be driven at speeds less then 80 MPH. at 90 to 95 your RPM's are around 4500 to 5000. the red line is at 7000. you may want to check your oil level and make sure it's up to level too..
