Hi! do core 2 duo cpu(s) help each other? for example a core 2 duo 2.0ghz has got 2 cpus each 2.0 ghz, if i'm burning a DVD, one of the cpus will be busy, and at the same time i'm playing a game using the other cpu. if my second cpu that im using it for playing is not enough for the game, will it get help from the first cpu? and is a core 2 duo 2.0 ghz enough for todays games?
Thanx.........peace

Dual core cpus are great for multitask. For example: with a dual-core cpu you can burn dvd, surf the net and run Photoshop at the same time without slowing down your pc. For most games, it does not do anything right now because the game has to be program to use the dual-core, otherwise it just see your cpu as a single 2.0 Ghz cpu. There are also very few apps that can use dual-core right now but that's going change in the future. Check the requirement for the game but i would think the cpu speed should be fine for today games.

Not necessarly

You need a program that uses Dual core tech. (SMP)

Then, the processors split the job but not like ...you play music, i play games. It can do 2 instructions at the same time without having to put one "in line

dual core for now, is better in multitasking , encoding etc

a 2.0 ghz is enough for the games we have now but.....
