No, its similar to saying athletes are role models, because they do something like play rugby and are very good at doesn't constitute a role model. Where does it say that people should be role models simply because they make a lot of money or they job that they do: athelete. You don't hear anyone say bankers or accountants are role models do you. Putting people on a pedestal is not healthy, you should get role models after the people you know, love and admire, but just remember we are all human and we all make mistakes. Setting high lofty standards is not healthy for anyone and living your life based on someones else world is not right either.

Well first off i think they shouldnt be role models, because look at what half of them do, get drunk go driving or do drugs, why in the world would anyone want that sort of person to be a "role model"? Second there are a lot of poor or middle class families out here now a days and i think its wrong for celebrities to "flash" their money around like they do. I know they work hard for it but that doesnt mean they have to throw it up in our face that they have money and we dont have money like that. I wish they could walk a day in my shoes just to see what middle class was about.

No they should not.. look at all the bad publicity that they get, and the majority of It is true even thought they like to say that it isn't.. it is.. they are no different from anyone else except that they are on TV and make a whole lot of money. THEY ARE NOT ROLE MODELS AT ALL. Good luck on your paper.

They become role models whether they should or shouldn't because kids look up to them.
Some celebs do good things for society. Some flash their privates or get drunk in public. Some become a spokes person for a good cause. Celebs need to face the responsibility of being in the lime light. it isn't their job to make today's children turn out alright, but they have an influence. Parents need to step in and set their kids straight.

I don't think they should be role models because the only thing they are good at is acting... some try to do charitable work, but gimme a break, its usually their assistants doing the work.

For the most part, celebrities are "entertainers". Let's take actors and actresses, their job is to lie so well that you believe what they portray on screen. No one should want to only be a good liar.

absolutely not. nobody should EVER look up to a bunch of anorexic brats who get drunk every night and marry someone every day! NOBODY should want to be like that! I dont understand why they're so popular! we should have 'celebrities' of evrey size, so everybody (women in particular) should have the chance to look and feel beautiful. I'm sick of all these stick-thin models. they make a lot of people feel bad, because not everybody's like that. well, you know what? nobody SHOULD want to be like that!
