If you have a creature with protection from red and you block a red creature then your creature takes no damage. BUT a large creature with trample does roll over your creature.

All the damage done by a red creature to a creature with protection from red, is cancelled, therefore no damage, but if a creature has trample then the creature remiains and teh damage goes through to the player.

The damage to the creature is prevented, including trample.

No damage is done by the attacking creature, Trample is also blocked. Bonus is that no red creature can block you, and no red spells can be cast on your creature (lightning bolt, ect)....Also means that YOU can't cast red spells on that creature either (firebreathing, etc.).

Damage is nullified entirely. Even better, if you attack with that creature, I don't think that your opponent can even block with a red creature.
