This is the 4th pregnancy and i also had something similiar to this on my first one. I had to be monitered and then after the baby was born i had to go in and have it froze out of the cervix. Well the OB called back today and said that my pap came back abnormal with Atypical cells and i was wonderin if they're cancerous or what it is. Thanks in advance!

Atypical squamous cells, undetermined significance (ASCUS) just means that the cells are a little bit out of normal. A-(meaning non) and -typical (meaning, uh, typical).

It's considered precancerous (which does NOT mean that it's going to grow into cancer one of these days... just meaning that some of these do become cancerous and they should be monitored). ASCUS is a REALLY common diagnosis... it is the nearest thing to a normal pap smear you can get without it actually being normal. It's probably nothing to worry about, though a repeated Pap smear or a colposcopy is usually in order.

i do know you're involved in your buddy, however you must recognize his privateness proper now. He will let you know while the time is proper for him. Without going into element, odd cells are any cells that do not have a average look for that cellphone variety. But please, in your sanity, do not study all illnesses that experience odd cells. Just be there in your buddy, permit him understand that your friendship in unconditional and he'll let you know what's up while he feels its time. or probably its not anything and he simply desires to permit it cross.
