Tell you what, here's how to work it out. Find the latidude & longitude of the Falkland Islands...Port Stanley is
59.40 degrees South, 59.51degress West.
The opposite side is the same number of degrees North as this is South so 59.40 degrees North
To convert East to West or West to East take the number off 180. So 180 - 59.51 is 120.49. This is going to be East as the original was West.
So the place is at 59.40 N, 120.49 E
This is Just inside Northern China near the Russian Border. The link below allows you to look them up!

To drill a hole diagonally through the core from the Falkland Islands to the northern Hemisphere, it is definitely Orsk in Russia.
Greenland is in the Northern hemisphere alright but is directly above it, same ocean (Atlantic). My globe isn't broken or a flat image on a screen.

Falkland Islands are situated at 52° South, 60° West. The nearest town in Siberia, USSR (not sure on the new terminology) is Oloci (see map link below, you will have to zoom out twice)

Looks like greenland to me....
There's obviously two ways to see the question... It really just depends on how you define "opposite". Opposite as in at the same longitude, but the opposite lattitude... Or opposite longitude and latitude.
Seems like a trick question, and I like the greenland answer.
