You can do what ever you want!!! your 17 year old is a minor. I'm not exactly sure what it is you want to do, but I think you gave her a merc and now you want to drive it. It can remain in your name and she can be listed as the primary driver, that way you retain ownership, and are able to claim any deductions associated with it. why is it important that her friends think it is hers? I get the feeling she is trying to impress them. You should retain ownership. your insurance would also cost less.

I'm confused...why does a 17 year old need such an expensive car? So what you have the money to spend on expensive items, but he/ she is 17, reckless and in the state of mind that nothing can happen to them. I say keep the Benz and the BMW and buy him/ her a Saturn!!! If they tear it up, you won't be too pissed.

Woah, woah, woah woah! First of all, if you've got a BMW, BE HAPPY, because not many people (like me) could ever afford that OR a Mercedes Benz. Second of all, if I just got a brand new Mercedes Benz while I was 17, I wouldn't want anyone to touch it(Trust me, I'm an adolescent too).So be grateful that you have your car, don't give in to your greed, AND DON'T STEAL YOUR POOR DAUGHTER'S CAR!!! Thank you and good night!

OK, I'm trying to work your mumbo jumbo talk out here, I'm guessing you bought your 17 year old child a Mercedes Benz but now you wished you kept it for yourself?? When you already drive a BMW??
Sorry lady but go whinge to someone else, if you have money to buy these european cars, you're telling me you're broke now and can't afford another one?? well that was smart, wasn't it? if you want a mercedes benz, then sell your BMW and buy one, geez, what a whinger!!!!!

LOL!
My mom has almost the exact problem. She lets my half-brother drive her benz to college. But I've heard her complaining about how she wants to drive it more. Personally just having a car is all I want. But your daughter might not be as easy to deal with. Talk to her about it, and see if you can trade driving it. Every other day, or every wednesday etc. It is your car, but you don't want to just take away something you gave her.

You just what your 17 year old? Not clear. Claim on your taxes? What are you talking about? Why do you care what a 17 year old thinks, It's all so confusing. Even with your additional comments, it doesn't make any sense what your question is?

There are so many fundamental things wrong with this question that I don't even know where to start and I have a feeling you wouldn't get it even if I did.

Congratulations to the car insurance company that gets to collect your premiums.

you can only afford to get your son a 65" TV for Christmas but you can buy a 17 year old a Mercedes?
That doesn't make too much sense to me

you should keep your word. if you said it's hers let it be that way. should have thought about it first before telling her about the car. she is only 17 so be careful b/c sometimes us young people can be the worst of drivers. besides, if you bought her a mercedes i'm pretty sure you have the cash to buy yourself one too.

You're an adult you should be mature enough to be able to resist the temptation of taking back something from your own daughter. YOu can't give something to someone. Then after taking it back. Imagine how she would feel
