You need to relax. Look at the diagram on the leaflet and note that you do not insert it straight you need to insert it at an angle. Lie down or sit on the toilet and raise one leg to see if that helps. Do not try to rush this or try to hard. Once you figure it out you will be thinking "what was the big deal about".

sweetie,
I have seven kids, and three of them are young women. I always had the new tampon user use a gentle hand lotion or a lubrication lotion that is approved for vaginal use. Just dab the lotion on the tampon glide (or the tampon itself if you are using a OB brand). Make sure to push the tampon all the way up until it stops. You will feel the tampon go past the muscle at the opening of your vagina. It will kind of stop, and the muscle will hold it in place.Make sure to keep the string outside and hanging down for you to use to remove the product. Do not be afraid to use these products! Your vagina is made to stretch, so you cannot hurt yourself. Remember to follow the instructions for changing the product regularly though, leaving a tampon in too long can make you ill.
Take care!

When you go to insert the tampon, if there is a bed around, lye down on it and then open your legs as if getting a papsmear and then insert the tampon. It works for me, I try my best to always insert the tampon while lying on the bed instead of sitting or standing. Just try it and see what happens!!

Well, I think there's a couple of different ways that you can do it. One way is sitting down on the toilet. The other way is standing up with one foot up on the toilet seat. Are you using a cardboard or plastic applicator? I find cardboard is easier. If you really can't do it, just ask somebody (mom, grandma, aunt, friend) to help you. Anybody with a vagina should be willing to help!

I've never put a tampon in, but I hear you need to sit on a toilet, then lean back and put your pelvis horizontal, like parallel to the floor. But like I said, never tried.

if ur too dry it doesn't work...some girls actually have to use a little lube because the tampon soaks up the wetness that's already there so that it can't slide in.

i think it goes in best when you squat a little because it needs to go in at a certain angle. also, it might help if you read the directions.

Use a plastic applicator (like tampax pearl or playtex) and relax your toes.
