There is a product in craft stores called Armor-Etch and it is used for acid etching designs on glass using stencils.Buy a starter kit. Get inexpensive glass votive candle holders and white votives. Using Contac Paper, cover a portion of the votive holder and use a black Sharpie marker to draw a design on the paper, then cut out the black portion and lift it away carefully. Burnish the edges of the design then apply some of the etching creme. The instructions say leave on for only one minute but I leave it on for two to get a more defined image. Rinse according to the instructions on the bottle.Remove your Contac paper stencil. Now you have a personalized votive holder that will commemorate the big day.

That's a tough one... didn't even know that favors were expected at christenings! Doing a web search turned up mostly a number of candy bars with special labels, etc... ack.
This site at least suggests a few themes for religious favors, etc.

It also matters re how many she has to make, how long she has to make them in, what her age and expertise level is, how fancy they need to be or how well she knows the baby/parents, etc.
You might check out some of the sites listed in this web search to see if anything else pops out at you (or her)... or hopefully someone will come up with a great idea soon:

There are several ways to make cheap orniments for Christmas that she can do at home. Below are a couple of my favorites:
Reineeer (Cheezy but classic)
Take Candy Canes, Pipe cleaners, Ribbon, and those glue-on eyes
Turn the candy cane so that the small part is facing you, the small part is the nose. Glue the eyes on with hot glue where they should go if you were facing the reindeer. Take pipe cleaner and cut it into 3rds, cut one of the 3rds in half and make 2 3-pronged antlers. Wrap the antlers around the hook and adjust them so they stick up. You may need a dot of glue to hold them in place.
Tie a bow around the reindeer's neck, and you're done.
Easy, pretty swirled orniments.
Take clear glass orniments and cheap tulip paint.
Gently remove the metal top off of the orniment. Pour a small amount of paint inside the orniment and swirl it around. You can put two or three colors in if you want, but the more paint you put in, the longer the dry time. Leave the top off until the paint dries inside and replace when it is dry.

I made these for my niece. Take small letter blocks of wood. Got at dollar store. wrap curling ribbon around it using 3 different colors. Make a huge bow at top. glue a flock teddy bear on top. put a small artificial flower in front of him between the legs. buy baby's breath that is also artificial. place 3 sprigs of each under each side of the bear. pull the ribbons away from each other and sort of fluff them up. Put a magnet (penny sized) on the back of the block. They are really cute. And nobody has to find a place to put them. They go right on the fridge. At the christening if you cover a cookie sheet with nice baby paper or something then you can display them and at the end everybody can just take one. They went over really super. I bought everything except the bears at the dollar store.
I also made rounds of tule. Maybe about 3 inches in circle. just fan fold and gather at middle. then fold in half. Then I glued little horses and boats and umbrellas to the front. Add a magnet. Dislplay the same way. They went over huge too. good luck.
