Since we have a rather common surname, I'd like the first/middle names to be creative/unique. Boy or Girl.

If you really want creative, you could make one up. Mix and match letters from your and your husband's first names. Try syllables the same way. Same starting letter? Ends in A? Play with it.

There's actually an online mixer that does things like that for you. Say my last name is Ellis. I'll use "Acadia" and "Damien", since if I was using it those are the names I'd use.

It comes up with these, among others.
Acia Ellis
Ammie Ellis
Aden Ellis
Adami Ellis
Enda Ellis
Cadmie Ellis

Here's the link: http://unique-name.perceptus.ca/word-mixer.php

There's another thing on the same site that mixes popular names. It offers a list of common names and asks you to check the ones you like. Then hit 'submit' and it mixes them! Sometimes it comes up with good stuff.

Here's that one, for girls: http://unique-name.perceptus.ca/mixer-seed.php?cat=female
And for boys: http://unique-name.perceptus.ca/mixer-seed.php?cat=male

Have fun with it! At the very least it will give you some ideas. For example, I might like Enda. But I don't want a made-up name. What's similar? Enya? That's still unique, and it's a real name. Or maybe you'll fall in love with one of the combinations it comes up with.
