Bottom line is you should have taken care of business in Columbus when you had the chance ! You lost ! Now someone else gets a shot , someone who actually won their Conference !!
THAT BEING SAID WE STILL NEED A PLAYOFF SYSTEM !!!!!!!

I am an Ohio State fan but I definitely think Michigan got screwed on this one. If Michigan wasn't the #2 team in the nation then don't put them there for two weeks and on the final week when they didn't even play , move them out of the #2 place. Michigan is most definitely the #2 team in the nation. I think they deserved a rematch.

Michigan, in Ohio State, only lost by 3 points to the undisputed best team. What more could they have done to merit a rematch? This is a classic example of why the BCS system doesn't work. More than 2 deserving teams will always be around for a chance at the title, and the NCAA doesn't give them all a chance to win it. We need an 8 team playoff so the national championship isn't decided by the writers who decide what teams get a chance.

I gaurantee you if Michigan would have beaten OSU there is no way that Florida would have jumped over OSU.
I I dont see why people are so against a rematch game, it's not like it wasnt a good game and this one will be on a neutral site.
Florida beating Florida St by only 7 should tell you all you need to know about how bad Florida really is.
I am a HUGE Michigan fan and for the first time in my life I am rooting for OSU to beat the hell out of Florida.

Yes Michigan did not get a fair chance and most voters did not take them seriously. Just because Urban Myer said that a team who doesn't win their divison should not get a chance to play in the title game. Hello Everyone! Lets go back to the 1996 season where Florida lost their division game. They still got to go to the title game, whats up with that? If I am still not making ssense plz check these sites out they should provide you with a more jouranlistic apporach.

Also, If you have to go out there and “convince” anyone that you are the best, then you aren't really deserving because your actions should speak for themselves.
Whatever happened to this idea of humility, and that trying to influence others in order to make yourself greater than you are, or greater than you are perceived, is not worth it because it makes you look ungrateful, and any gains from it are artificial - meaning that, to you, the result is more important than the means of accomplishment or your internal character.
Predictably, Urban Meyer went into his arguments why Florida was superior to Michigan saying that Michigan did not even win its conference (which is a dumb argument because it is essentially saying that the #2 team in the country should be penalized because the #1 team happens to be in the same conference), that they were the SEC champion and should play the Big Ten champion, and that this is what the "nation really wanted." (ESPN immediately refuted this with a national online poll of 150,000+ showing 57% wanted Michigan-Ohio State with only the Deep South states picking Florida-Ohio State).
Lloyd Carr now was facing great adversity - Michigan could possibly not be picked for the championship game - and he was now also facing great opportunity - he was being given the microphone hours after the USC loss to convince people why Michigan (who everyone had forgotten about since they had stopped playing two weeks ago) is better than Florida. Lloyd Carr and Michigan's character stayed true and revealed itself. Carr said that Florida had a great season like Michigan. He said that BCS talk had to wait to the end of the season before it should be changed, and he said that both teams were deserving of playing for the title and that it is very disappointing that one has to be left out. When the ESPN analysts pressed him on why they should pick Michigan over Florida, Carr said he didn't want to get into campaigning for his team because he didn't think a coach doing that was good for college football and left it at that. You know, in reality, Lloyd Carr may have cost Michigan a shot at the title for not getting into the pig sty and wrestling with the pigs.

David Glazier, Detroit Lions senior vice president who votes in the Harris poll, said he had problems with the "politicking that people in the media did, trying to steer people away from a rematch.
He also had the novel idea of voting for the better team.
"Did I want to see a rematch? No," he said. "But my job was to vote for the top 25 teams, not who should play who, and after watching as much college football as anybody, I believed Michigan was the second-best team."
The last rematch in the national title games was in 1996, when Florida beat Florida State for the national title after losing to the Seminoles in the final game of the regular season.
South Carolina's Steve Spurrier, who coached the Gators to the '96 national championship, moved Florida past Michigan in the coaches' poll.
His reasoning?
"Heck, I'm a Gator," he said. "I went there. So I had a lot of reason to vote
That says it all.................SCREWED WITH THEIR PANTS ON ! ! ! !

Michigan got screwed they deserve to go to the championship game. They were 2-1 on the top 25 teams and o yeah they were all in the top 10. And i guess michigan's 3 point loss at ohio state isnt as good as florida's 10 loss to auburn. Michigan is the 2nd best team in the country. Their opponets combined for 77 wins 2nd most in the ncaa. I just hope that Ohio state kills florida and michigan kills USC. SO at the end it is michigan 2 and ohio state 1
Go Big Blue

Yes because they are the second best team but Florida I think got it because they play in a harder conference. Besides like the previous answer stated, a rematch probably wouldn't do as well since we already have seen it once.
This is where a BCS Playoff system would be needed-have Michigan play Florida for the right to play Ohio State

Everyone is making a big deal about OSU beating Michigan like they blew them out of the water. They only lost by 3 pts and it was a very good game. i would have loved to see a rematch just because it would have made for a good game new years rather than Florida getting run all over by a superior team.

Mich. has to live with the system like everybody else does. In the past I've been critical of L. Carr but I really liked how he handled the whole situation. No way Fla beats OSU. I think the Rose Bowl will be more entertaining than the championship game anyway. Eventually, though they'll have to look at the issue of a team dropping in rank if they're idle; this will come up again. I bet they'll do some tweaking when they look at it in four years when the current agreement expires.

I think Michigan had their fair chance at beating Ohio State. If Michigan beat Ohio State for the title game, we'd have a lot of Ohio State fans calling for a best of 3. Where does it stop? Let someone else have a crack at it.
