I am 14 weeks along. I all ready asked my doctor and he ignored me basicly and sent me on my way.
I never have had this with my last pregnancy . I have sharp pains on the top of my stomach.
Is this normal or should i be concerened?

all pregnancies are different and during pregnancy you have tendons, muscles and all kinds of things that stretch, the baby may just be growing a little faster than the last...

If your doctor ignored you, it's probably okay. However, your doctor should not make you feel ignored, however irrelevant he may think your question is. You need to feel trust & a good relationship with him - it makes such a difference in your overall pregnancy & delivery. If this is something you feel often, I'd really consider a switch to a different doctor.
I had very sharp pains on the top of my stomach also, but not until right before delivery (about 1 week prior).

Remember that no question is a stupid question, which was why I don't think the doctor should of ignored you, and yes I do believe it's something to worry about. If you need to choose another doctor do it as soon as possible some doctors wont take you at 5 months along. Also if it wasn'y anything that you should not worry about the doctor should of assured you not to worry. Don't take anyones advice on this ask your doctor again or one of the nurses, if they still don't respond find yourself another doctor.

This can be normal and no doubt that is why your dr. dismissed this q. This is usually normal with first pregs. If these pains are accompanied by the passing of blood or a foul odor then you need to go to the emergency room because this could be a sign of bacterial vaginitis, which can lead to premature labor and the demise of your unborn baby. I experienced this with my last preg. at 20 weeks and a trip to the emergency and a round of antibiotics cleared it right up! Good Luck

Since it is this important to you, call for an appointment sooner than you are due for one, or just ask to talk to your doctor over the phone to get a straight answer.
He may just be dismissing it as stretching ligaments, but you should definitely push him for a straight answer.

I don't know if this will be helpful. I was getting sharp pains and it ended up being my uterus stretching. I think it is bad that your doctor didn't talk to you about this. Maybe you need a new doctor.

I think if it was something important your Dr would not ignore you, but just to be sure see another Dr. a walking clinic or Emergency Room
Good luck
