I press the button and the green light just flashes, but the drive doesn't seem to open.

theres an issue with the drive straighten out a paperclip and push it thru the small opening in the front of thedrive it should ejectb

your burning program locked up , it wont let you open it by pressing the eject button , sometimes if you just restart your computer it will work properly , otherwise you have to uninstall the burning software ,and than reinstall it , sometimes it gets corrupted , i hope that this helps .

Check the Cables inside your PC. Open THE CASE AND DON"T FORGET TO DISCONECT YOUR Computer.
Remove the cable then put it again and turn on Your PC.
