Today, my best friend and I stopped being friends. She thinks that I'm kind of annoying, and that I don't care about basketball (we're on the same team) and that I'm not active in the church... I don't know what to do we've been friends for a while and it just hurts to think of what it'll be like without her... do you have any tips or anything...?

And her mom doesn't seem to like me and I'm kind of wondering if her mom has something to do with it

Teen age relationships are very fluid and can change rapidly. I know it hurts whether the relationship is a romantic boy-girl, or same gender pals. Friends of either type will grow apart. As you grow up your interests can change and diverge to the point where you don't have much in common any more. This is part of growing up.
For some young people membership in and active involvment in the church is very important. Maybe church is becoming more of a priority in your friend's life than it is in your life. This could be another diverging interest.
Stay friendly when you encounter her at school, etc. Don't snub her. Snubbing would be very immature.
The divergence of interests is potential for growth. Grow with the change!

I kind of had the same sitution from your friends point of view i guess...maybe you should just try talking to her...if she's willing to listen try comprimising....if she's really a good friends she will listen...and if she's not....i know this might be hard but try moving...just try talking to her for a while...if she doesnt respond in a long while then let it go.

Those are weird reasons not to be friends anymore...Im sure it will be very hard on you! But if you guys arent meant to be best friends, things will work out fine. Just keep your chin up and try hanging out with some new people.

like breaking up with a boyfriend you work with or something,,, i know. call a truce and agree to disagree if you can. just be polite to her and hope for the same respect. maybe she'll be sorry because you handled it more maturely??

Time makes things easier, although you miss your friend maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
