I feel that cheating is a weapon to hurt the other person in a relationship, so if you dont tell, what's the point? Is it a personal victory or what?

It's kind of like asking, why get married if you were planning on cheating or cheating without planning? Maybe it builds the ego for some egomaniacs.

I offered to have an affair with my first love and we both have spouses and families. It would be an affair because I still love him but don't want to leave my family that mean the world to me...but I'm not in love with my husband. My first love was not willing to take the risk, which I don't blame him for, but the point if we had done it was to keep in a secret so it let us be with each other romantically at least a few times a year because we both still have feelings for each other but not wreck our family lives. At least that was how I looked at it.

You are horrible.
Cheating is about selfishness and lack of respect for others.
To tie it to hurting people deliberately is even worse.
