Following a long illness, my father passed away on Easter Sunday. We had been caring for him in our home for nearly 13 years following the death of my mom years earlier.

We held the funeral services in New York City where my father spent most of his adult life. Because of the distance, we took a room in a nearby hotel. The night before the funeral, my wife awoke suddenly, screaming and insisting that I had to go for a blood test. Aside from the fatigue that accompanies grief, I told her I felt fine and didn’t see any reason for a test. I also told her I planned to take a short business trip the day after the funeral because my dad would want me to get on with my life and not waste my time grieving. But she insisted that I couldn’t possibly travel and had to see a doctor immediately.

After arriving home, I very reluctantly agreed to cancel my trip and then developed sudden abdominal pains accompanied by severe rectal bleeding. I still kept insisting that I’d probably be okay for the trip if I rested awhile but my wife was insistent that I see my doctor immediately. In order to calm her fears, we went to the doctor’s office where I suddenly blacked-out in the waiting room.

I awoke in an ambulance en route to the hospital. Although quite groggy, I inquired as to the nature of my condition and the paramedic informed me that I was bleeding to death and had to get to the hospital immediately.

Following a battery of tests it was discovered that I had experienced an abdominal aortic aneurysm (commonly known as a “Triple A”) and lost enough blood to require a transfusion. The doctors informed me that if this had occurred in an airplane, the result would have been fatal due to the pressurized cabin.

If it hadn’t been for my wife’s "premonition", I would not be here today. Perhaps my dad sent a subtle message?

Miracles came into being to explain the unbelievable. Science and technology all help to explain the previously unbelievable. And of course we still also have to contend with the shysters trying to pull a fast one for a quick buck.
But miracles shouldnt be believed.

The thicker someone is..... the more miracles they believe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
