Compare and Contrast Superman and Hercules?

I need help with some ideas of how these two heroes are alike and different. I have a paper to write that's due tomorrow. Thanks for all your help.

Both men were on the side of "good" but Superman is a bit more puritanical that Hercules was. Hercules really liked the girls quite a bit where as Superman swore off such vices.

Each had a specific vulnerability to enable them to be more "human" in our eyes and to provide an avenue of possible defeat to encourage foes. A perfect hero with no vulnerabilities really becomes a god and that begins an entirely different debate into the nature of God and gods.

Superman was a "normal" person on his own planet but is an alien to Earth, thus his everyday abilities appear "super-human" to we lowly earthlings. Whereas Hurcules was born of a mortal human mother but had been sired by the god Zues, thus explaining his own super-human abilities. He was a demigod, part moral and part god and of course the god part is dominate.

Both were susceptible to very human failings, namely love.

There is a wealth of information on these two mythical men out there, I hope you do well on your paper.

There is not as much contrast as you maybe believe. Why? Because I have read the Crater information as to how superman was created. Also that superman was create from the very models of Hercules.Even some of Superman's feats were based on the feats of Hercules. The really only thing that separate them is that superman flies because of strength gained from the sun. While Hercules flew in a chariot with the help of flying horses to save the Sun that was stolen.. I do hope that this will show you how much alike those two really are are........................

well other than the obvious timeframe- Superman was sent to Earth by his parents as a last legacy and Hercules was the result of one of Zeus' many infidelities on earth...Hercules can't fly.... and Hercules died, while Superman's been around for a century..Oh, and one's a myth that people once believed in whilst the other's a fictional character.

I presume you are speaking of the actual Greek tales of Hercules, not the tv pablum of recent years.

Similar, they both lived among humans but were born of non-humans, which was the source of their powers.

Different, Hercules was as dumb as a brick, and often accidentatlly killed people who were nearby and helping him when he got drunk.
