The Patron saint of Scotland & recognised in Russia,. 30th November should be deemed a national holiday in Scotland what say you

St Andrew is the patron saint of Barbados and our Independence day is November 30th. You folks could perhaps petition for it to be a national holiday in Scotland

I agree, why not celebrate your patron!!

Remember though that Ireland is a catholic country (in that Catholicism was widely practised by the majority of people-in the Republic-until very recently) and Saints are less popular in Protestant Christianity. St. Patrick's day normally falls in the middle of Lent which is convenient as all Lenten fasts were null for that day (hence the party).

As St Patrick was Welsh, I reckon the Welsh should be given a holiday on the 17th as well.

i agree it should be made a holiday and it should be celebrated and remembered more than it is everyone always celebrates st patricks day don't they so why no st andrew day?
