If its like mine, about 3ft by 1 tf by 1ft or 30" by 15" by 12" then there are about 22 gallons give or take a bit,
that will hold comfortably 2 goldfish, or three four baby ones for now, if its a tropical tank it should hold a few more fish, five six,
its a good size tank for beginning a fishkeeping hobby.

With your dimensions, your tank is 28 gallons. This commonly knows as a "30 gallon breeder" or a "30 gallon long" - but it's not quite 30 gallons.

Need full dimensions. Then calculate the volume and convert to gallons.
(if it's about 3 feet across and came from walmart, it's most likely 55 gallons)

Easiest way I can think of based on what I know...one cubic cm is equal to fluid ounce...so figure out the dimensions LxWxH in cm then divide by how many fl oz are in a gal (128oz) and thats how many gallon you need.

depends on the height, width and depth of the tank not just the tank size so to speak. Google calculating aquarium volume, there are loads of sites which will do all of the calculating if you put in the measurements

It depends on the length, depth and if its circular or not.
I suggest around 15 gallons
