Think about what you have to offer a university. What you would want from a student if you were an admissions tutor? You'd probably want someone who would stick to their chosen course, work hard, contribute to the life of the university, and have goals in life. What are your personal qualities? What extra-curricular activties or hobbies do you do, and what do they show about you? For example, you like singing and dancing. What does this involve for you? Depending on how you package it, this could demonstrate:

- Your ability to work in a team (if you are in shows or a choir)
- Your determination and commitment to improve in an area through practice
- Your ability to communicate and to present to an audience (important for both business and languages)
- Your creativity and enthusiasm
- Your willingness to try new things
- Your time-management skills (making time for rehearsals, lessons or performances within your study schedule).

Also, what are your career goals? Where does your chosen course fit into this? What attracted you to the course? These are the factors which might make the difference between completing your degree and finding out it's not for you and eventually dropping out.

You don't put your AS Levels on your UCAS form you put your GCSE's and put pending for your ASLevels anyway you should have done it way before now the earlier you send it off the more generous offers you get I've got Manchester, Edge Hill, Manchester Met, Goldsmiths, Chester and Lancashire. Depending on what you want to do Chester should be one of your 6 it's great

lol apart from being pedantic isn't probably a very good quality!

i've just applied for uni too, sent off my form about 3 weeks ago and hav got 5 out of 6 offers back so far.

i'm guessing ur not in school or college at the moment because we got alot of help and guidance from our heads of sixth form etc. but anyway.... you've got to sell yourself!! tell them all the good bits about you. and when you say you enjoy your subject say WHY you enjoy it, and prove that you're interested enough to have looked into it outside of school or whatever.

e.g. iw ant to take french, so i wrote about experiences on the french exchange and how i want to go and work in France for a while next summer before i go to uni.

It's good to make it individual and put stuff in that's onyl about you because it will make yours stick out from everyone elses... eg. write about your siging and dancing and how it makes you feel or why you enjoy it, and then why it makes you a better candidate...eg. creative- good at expressing yourself.

i can't really think of any long words but just use your thesaurus on word to change some words around at the end lol. but you need it to be like you, because you cant be doing that all the way through your degree!! if they dont want you for who u r then dont bother with them i say (how corny lol!)

=) hope thats helped anyway...

OH and get loads of people to read it when you're done to see if they have any suggestions to help... you could always (if my presumptions right) go back into your scl/college and ask ur old tutor for sum input??
