What are some things to do in Phoenix? We are going to Spring Training in March and need some stuff to do once the games are over.

Just north of Phoenix is an exit for Crown King off the Black Canyon Freeway. After a long drive down a dirt road, there is a neat little community to eat lunch. I recommend a 4x4.

There is a ton to do in Phoenix. It all depends on what you are into. If you are looking for clubs and nightlife, I would suggest either Tempe or Scottsdale. Tempe is a college town with a lot of club type places, bars and restaurants. South Scottsdale, aka Old Town has a lot of clubs too. The clubs in S. Scottsdale are a bit better in terms of variety and entertainment. North Scottsdale has a few clubs, but they are more "snooty" and sort of a fashion show on music. :)

If you are looking for touristy things to do Cave Creek is cute, it is above Scottsdale and an old cowboy town. Definitely worth a trip if you are into the wild west. They have some really cute bars there that are saloonish and have entertainment on weekend nights.

If you are into animals, the Wildlife World Zoo is excellent. They have a wonderful variety of animals and you can even feed some of them. They have giraffe feeding and exotic bird feeding. A ton of fun and it is a bit nicer in its set up than the Phoenix zoo.

Hope that helps a bit. Downtown Phoenix is also nice if you get a chance. There are some great areas near the sports complex. :)

If you really want a good laugh on a Tuesday night, go to Giligin's (spelled incorrectly on purpose) in Scottsdale’s "old town" district. It is a pirate themed bar, which on a normal night is a fun dive due to the eye candy of over decoration, and bric-a-brac covering every square inch. Also, when you walk in, you get a free spin on the "shots wheel" that allows you a free shot where it lands.

Now, with all this already intriguing you, I drop this in your lap. On Tuesday nights, they hold their weekly event, Goldfish Racing. This event is free of charge, and allows it's participants to challenge other bar goers to a race of the fastest goldfish. You are giving a goldfish, and a squirt gun, and are allowed to name the poor bugga what ever you choose, and then 2 by 2 you are allowed to squirt your goldfish to the finish line in a provided race track that consists of 2 13' gutters side by side. The winner goes to the next round, and so on. The ultimate champion gets a turn in the money vault where fake money is dispensed all around the winner. The money collected then goes towards your bar tab.

Sound fun, you bet your *** its fun. Go check it out when you have a Tuesday night free. Races usually start around 9:00 PM, and are usually a full house. Come early for your chance to race.

Giligin's 4251 N. Winfield Scottsdale, AZ 874-2264
