If not enough to support the length of paper
you need, broaden out the topic (like going
from "brown horses with white stockings on
their hind legs" to "Breeding of Horses for
heavy hauling")
If you find so much you don't know where to
start, narrow the field down using the same
principle.
Construct a thesis, your point of view about the
subject.
Gather data which both support and challenge
your thesis.
Organize your data so it is in some coherent
order.
Write your paper.
Let your paper sit for at least two days.
Give it to someone you trust to read and give
you their honest opinion.
Read it yourself with your friends comments
in mind.
Revise as necessary.
If time permits, repeat the last four steps. If not
then turn it in, using the prescribed format.
