Lemon Twist may or may not be right, but my answer would be that it's mainly due to cultural conditioning. For starters, pink is the color used to signify that a new baby is a girl - vs blue for a boy. And as another respondent mentioned, parents adorn their girls with pink, so from birth they are surrounded by this color. Obviously, some rebel against the color, but the majority don't.

A: The biological imperative for reproduction and sexual attraction.

Pink is an attractive colour - meaning in this sense that male attention is drawn to it. Blokes generally don't wear loud colours - our dress colour palette is dominated by blues and browns and grays and black - well mine is; and the reason for this is we (the male of the species) go after the attractive sex (the females); and they do the attracting. Once they have achieved attraction it's then down to feremones and the results are all round you - look in the mirror.

PS The world view represented here is obviously hetrosexual - in lifes rich tapestry other orientations exist: - males are attracted to males (?) and females to females (!) as well, but whatever your persuasion, if you are the hunter rather than the hunted you don't wear pink, whereas if you take it where the sun don't shine, you do.

maybe we are trained to like pink. Mum's love to dress their little girls in pink, Dad's like to paint their bedrooms pink, pink teddys are bought etc etc etc. So perhaps when we grow up and crash into the world of adulthood, when we feel the need to escape our daily lives of working, being wife and mother we recall our innocence through the POWER OF PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
